LAST PAYCHECK ISSUES

Termination without pay is a fear of many employees. Louisiana law protects employees from the wrongful withholding of their final paycheck. Louisiana provides for attorney's fees and penalties for  withholding the final paycheck. It is possible to get up to 90 times the withheld pay.

Employers often fire a worker and refuse to issue some or all of the last paycheck. Employers have a duty to issue all pay that is owed and cannot short you because you no longer work there.

Businesses have lawyers on their side. If you feel like you were cheated out of what you are owed, you need an attorney on yours. If you worked the hours, you must be paid.
