Police across the country are having a hard time with the legalization of hemp. Both hemp and marijuana are essentially the same plant. The leaves are identical. They are the same species. They even smell the same! The difference is that marijuana is grown to have a higher THC content. Hemp is defined by federal statutes as a variety of the plant, having a THC level below approximately .03%.
